Adobe CS On iPad

Adobe CS4

Adobe is publicly thinking about developing apps for the Apple iPad device. While I do love the Adobe Creative Suite family, I’m not too sure how I feel about the idea of them on the iPad.

How large will the apps be? The iPad comes in only 16, 32, or 64GB drive capacities, so probably really small, thus limiting the apps when it comes to functionality and usability. Many features and tools will most probably be excluded, and only the “essential” features will be available. But every designer has their own take on what is essential. Inconvenient problem.

I haven’t yet experienced a designing emergency that couldn’t wait until I’m back at the office. Also, a laptop is always present at client meetings in case on-the-spot changes or brainstorming is required. So I ask you, is having these limited apps on a limited mobile device really necessary?

Not for me.

Bad Day At the Office

Being the football fanatic that I am, my mind was completely on the game (that we lost) the whole day. I wasn’t focusing while I was working in the studio and I left in a hurry, forgetting to do the most important thing before I left. I forgot to cover the paint I was using, leaving it exposed the whole night in the cold air. Acrylic paint dries up while you are using it unless you add a bit of water and mix it every once in a while. Disaster!

I came in today to continue work and to my horror, the paint was of course dried up! So then comes the pain in the ass feat of try to mix the same color again. It is near impossible to do it! I spent about an hour trying and trying until I basically decided that I did the best I could. I tried it out on the canvas and it looked fine, but then when those new areas dried, it looked completely different! So now I have to do over all the old areas with the new shade. Basically I’m starting the whole thing again.

Pain in the ASS!

Technically that term applies to me, but not quite. After about three months of uninspired job searching, terrifying images of me working in the future, and just plain sad examples of reality, my mom came up with the idea of me doing something completely different. Something that fits me perfectly. A dream job will have me eager to do my duties, enjoying the work environment around me, and ending the work day on a sweet note.

I am happy to finally have some guts to say that I am an artist.
