Went to the Zain Night Of the AdEaters last night at the Avenues. The event sucked and the giveaway baggies sucked too. However, the actual show was great. The showcasing of the best TV ads in the world was great and I really enjoyed it. The best thing was that they had my favorite ad of all time.

The new season of La Liga begins on August 30th and already many are making predictions on who will win the league title. It is mostly between Real Madrid and Barcelona. One will be defending a treble and one will be trying to achieve it.
This season, Real Madrid is back with a new class of Galacticos consisting of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Xabi Alonso and Karim Benzema. New chairman, Florentino Perez, has promised the club’s fans a season of success. Barcelona, on the other hand, have been mostly modest in their new signings so far, with only Zlatan Ibrahimovic being their only new super star. The former Inter frontman will have the big shoes of Samuel Eto’o to fill and the same goes to Samuel Eto’o who have the similar challenge of filling Ibra’s.
Valencia, Sevilla and Villareal seem to be ignored when predictions are made but their talented players must not be cast aside for they will be fighting fierce battles against the Galacticos, the Blaugrana and each other for the valuable places in the Champions and Europa Leagues.
It will be interesting and exciting to see how Real Madrid will compete with the beautiful and almost perfect football of Barcelona. The major topic of the season will no doubt be the legendary rivalry of these two historic giants.

This is going to be heaven to those that love football and tennis. Every summer we get three Grand Slam tennis tournaments and they are fantastic. However, every other second year we get an even greater treat of the three Grand Slams plus either the FIFA World Cup tournament or the UEFA EURO Championship. But behold this year has five events! They are the three Grand Slams, either the World Cup or EURO, and the Olympics. This highly anticipated combo/combo is like cocaine to me. It’s bad because I almost have no sleep, and good because it just makes me feel so happy.
Roland Garros (French Open) // May 25 - June 8
EURO 2008 // June 7 - 29
The Championship (Wimbledon) // June 23 - July 7
2008 Olympic Games // August 8 - 24
US Open // August 25 - September 7
But sadly I won’t be enjoying the first three as I would have hoped because I’m a @$(%#! $%#)@ ^Y#%. That’s basically it. At the moment, I’m trying be less pissy about it and just get over it and enjoy whatever I can enjoy.
I hope to be regularly writing updates and reviews on the events as they go by so stay tuned, tennis and football fans!

Nike Football. They have seriously outdone themselves. No joke. This is definitely the best commercial I have ever seen in my life. I don’t know how old it is, must be a week old at the most. I first saw it today after the glorious Manchester United win. Wow. I already had tears in my eyes (not kidding) and then this two-minute ad sent shivers all over my body. It’s such a simple idea. Very basic and straight to the point. It’s done so beautifully I just can’t stand it. I bet all the players featured and all the crew had a blast making this piece.
You don’t have to be a football lover to enjoy it. This video is 100% concentrated passion and inspiration. I’m a big fan of the NikeFootball videos and I download them all and watch them on my iPod when I’m out. This one seriously is amazing. I reeeeeeally hope they make a series out of this. They have to!
PLEASE enjoy it in HD. I have provided a download, I know it’s huge but it’s so worth the wait. Seeing it in shiteous quality on YouTube will ruin it for you. Even watching it on NikeFootball.com will be crappy because it will be choppy. So just download the video. You’ll love it.
Still gives me shivers. I wish I was a footballer.
Download me! [106mb]

You know how these days Christians have to give up something they like for the 40 day period of lent? Well for the past couple of years, I’ve been doing something similar for Ramadhan. I’ve done music and oversleeping. Those seem kind of silly and very trivial. So I’ve decided that in addition to those, I’m going to add unnessessary foods (snacks, second servings, etc.). So I’ll be kind of power-fasting.
I think my wisdom tooth on the bottom right is definately ready to come out. I’ll make an appointment tomorrow but my friends say the actual extraction could be scheduled in about six months the earliest!!
I have a blue ring around my irises which for years I thought looked kind of cool when my pre-med friend said I should look it up. It turns out it could be a sign of high cholesterol or lipid disorder. I guess I gotta have my blood checked soon. I still think I’m allergic to America.
I watched the US Open last week and I was glad Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer reached the final. I love them both but I was hoping Djokovic would win because he is the underdog and it’s his first time reaching a grand slam final. But I guess having Federer win was great too. According to his records at the moment, he is the greatest player to have ever played proffesional tennis. And the awesome part is that he’s still not finished. He planns to play until 2012. Who knows what he will acomplish in the next five years.
Have a great Ramadhan, people. May your samboosas be tasty and your feasting non-hasty.
