School’s out for summer
School’s out forever
School’s been blown to piecesNo more pencils
No more books
No more teacher’s dirty looksOut for summer
Out till fall
We might not go back at all
No shit! Haha.. see you soon. I’m coming back home.
I found this on YouTube. It’s a great song sung by someone who is not known by a huge number of people, although a few of her songs are very familiar to us.
Asmahan was Fareed Al Atrash’s sister, born Amal. She had a beautiful voice and, after finding this video, I see that she was gorgeous as well.
This song is called Emta Hataaraf and it was for the second and last movie she made, Gharam Wa Enteqam. She died in a dramatic car accident (crashed into the Nile) before production ended. Asmahan was only 26 years old.
Sometimes we all hate the commercials who interrupt our shows or movies on TV. But look on the bright side. Commercials give you a chance to get a snack, drink, or do that something else.. Personally, I don’t mind THAT much. A lot of the commercials are stupid and annoying. Basically I don’t like the ones that have a narrative or try to be funny (they fail at that). Like the ones for beer, pizza, and that Verizon guy. As long as the commercial has no humans, it’s OK by me.
I pay attention to commercials because I never know when there’s a song that I might recognize for some reason or if I just simply like it.

Chopsticks for sushi and magnets on fridges
Clean shower caddies and tall cabled bridges
Long happy marriages and all that it brings
These are a few of my favorite things
Old comfy sneakers and sweet Beatle balads
Pepsi not Cola and fresh fruit not salads
Fat bees that die on the floor when they sting
These are a few of my favorite things
Doodles in notebooks and non-textbook classes
Anything Mac and my sweet Knoxville glasses
‘Yo Momma’ jokes and brand new pilot wings
These are a few of my favorite things
When Madrid lose
When there’s no floos
When it’s just so bad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so sad
Sung in the tune of “My Favorite Things” from the Sound of Music feature film.
Fun Fact: The first known contraceptive was crocodile dung, used by Egyptians in 2000 B.C.
I found this cool plugin called QuickTime Embed and I’m testing it out. It basically makes it easier to embed QuickTime movies. No more messy codes and I can now have the video come with a “poster.” It’s a clickable movie image that starts off the movie. Really cool.
This commercial was made last summer when Apple Co. and Apple Inc. sort of stopped fighting, finally allowing solo Beatles material available on the iTunes Store. It was also the same time Paul McCartney released his latest album, Memory Almost Full. The song used in the ad was the first song released from that album. It’s really great and I love the mandolin that he’s playing. I remember just feeling happy every time it came on TV. The colors, the music, and Paul skipping. Beautiful.
