Emta Hataaraf

I found this on YouTube. It’s a great song sung by someone who is not known by a huge number of people, although a few of her songs are very familiar to us.

Asmahan was Fareed Al Atrash’s sister, born Amal. She had a beautiful voice and, after finding this video, I see that she was gorgeous as well.

This song is called Emta Hataaraf and it was for the second and last movie she made, Gharam Wa Enteqam. She died in a dramatic car accident (crashed into the Nile) before production ended. Asmahan was only 26 years old.

Yes.. Asmahan’s voice was incredible. Look for ليالي الأنس في فيينا AND أهوى .. actually, ALL her songs were beautiful and they’re not that many. Check them all out.. you’ll love each and every one. Farid, her brother, was an outstanding composer and 3ood player as well as a singer. What almost nobody realized is what a great comedian he was. In his movies he was usually the great lover but in the few comdies he played he was really good. He’s one of those people whom it took me time to appreciate.. A great artist.

shorof, yup i already have about 10 i think.. not many out there. I used to be iffy about fareed (well as a kid i was iffy about all black n white egyptian films) because he didnt look too approachable lol.. but that is a stupid reason now ;P by the way, they both have the same mouth!

DS, a sharp difference from today’s talents huh? hehe
