Just Shameful
- I clean up Monday mornings so that when the cleaning lady comes to clean my bathroom she doesn’t think I’m a total slob.
- I do laundry only when I have nothing left to wear.
- I wear sweat pants, a t-shirt and socks to bed because I sleep on top of the covers so I wouldn’t have to make my bed in the morning.
- I got 12 pieces of fruit the day before Ramadhan and I had 10 left in my fridge over 2 months later (and by then I don’t think they could have still been called fruit).
- I have proper dish-ware and utensils but I use disposable plastics (I don’t even need to explain why).
- Whenever I get the rare urge to go to the gym, I take the 15 minute bus ride that goes around the campus first instead of the 5 minute walk.
- When I’m having a bad day, I press every button of the elevator when I get off.
- Current items in my fridge: one yogurt and four packets of soy sauce. Number of magnets on my fridge: 14.

There’s no need to be ashamed at all. After all, we live abroad, alone and single…might as well take it easy and be lazy about everything.
