Nike Took It To the Next Level

Nike Football. They have seriously outdone themselves. No joke. This is definitely the best commercial I have ever seen in my life. I don’t know how old it is, must be a week old at the most. I first saw it today after the glorious Manchester United win. Wow. I already had tears in my eyes (not kidding) and then this two-minute ad sent shivers all over my body. It’s such a simple idea. Very basic and straight to the point. It’s done so beautifully I just can’t stand it. I bet all the players featured and all the crew had a blast making this piece.

You don’t have to be a football lover to enjoy it. This video is 100% concentrated passion and inspiration. I’m a big fan of the NikeFootball videos and I download them all and watch them on my iPod when I’m out. This one seriously is amazing. I reeeeeeally hope they make a series out of this. They have to!

PLEASE enjoy it in HD. I have provided a download, I know it’s huge but it’s so worth the wait. Seeing it in shiteous quality on YouTube will ruin it for you. Even watching it on NikeFootball.com will be crappy because it will be choppy. So just download the video. You’ll love it.

Still gives me shivers. I wish I was a footballer. :(

Download me! [106mb]

She’s Back!

My favorite character in Grey’s Anatomy is coming back to the show! Addison Montgomery not only has the coolest name in TV, but she is FIERCE and I love her. She left last season to star in a spin off show based on her super cool character but new episodes have not been ordered since the writers’ strike ended. She’s “guest starring” in the next Grey’s Anatomy episode but I seriously hope they keep her for good.

Addison Montgomery. Awesome name.

I CAN cure cancer. But I chose to be another person.

That has been scaring me for the past two nights.

Earthquake!

It’s about 5:40 AM and I’ve been watching Doogie Howser, M.D. non-stop. Suddenly, my chair begins to rumble and I can feel the floor moving a bit. It was as if a dinosaur was walking a couple of blocks from my building. I could see ripple marks in the Dr. Pepper bottle that was on my desk. I was confused! I really did think there was a monster or giant that was causing this! That thought only lasted 1 second though. The rumbling lasted for about five seconds and then I felt the whole building shake! It was a soft shake. Lasted maybe three seconds tops. I mean, if I was asleep I probably wouldn’t have felt it. But it scared the crap out of me! After it stopped, I grabbed my phone and put my shoes on. Then I realized that none of my neighbors were out in the hallway. I decided to stay put.

Then I went to the US Geological Survey website to see if I was maybe imagining things. I didn’t see any reports for anywhere near my town so I decided to file a “Did you feel it?” report. About 40 minutes later, there was an official report of a magnitude 5.2 earthquake that took place at 4:36 AM in the state next to mine! So I’m guessing that what I felt was an aftershock. How cool is that?!

As of now (8:45 AM), there have been over 16,300 reports from filed just like mine from 2,820 zip codes from hundreds of cities, towns, and states surrounding the initial earthquake location. And I’m guessing it will keep rising throughout the next couple of hours.

This might sound dorky but it was great! I actually felt a real earthquake. I felt was given a little hint of the awesome power that is nature. If I had felt a more intense one, there would have been a 36% chance of me actually wanting to get a degree in geology. But thank God that didn’t happen. I can always watch National Geographic or the Discovery Channel.

The World Is Full Of Sick Bastards

Eight-Year-Old Wife Wins Divorce

A YEMENI court has granted a divorce to an eight-year-old girl whose unemployed father forced her into an arranged marriage.

“I am happy that I am divorced now. I will be able to go back to school,” Nojud Mohammed Ali said, after a public hearing in Sanaa’s court of first instance.

Her former husband, 28-year-old Faez Ali Thameur, said he married the child “with her consent and that of her parents” but that he did not object to her divorce petition.

In response to a question from Judge Mohammed al-Qadhi, he acknowledged that the “marriage was consummated, but I did not beat her”.

He did not beat her? WOW! Give the man a medal of honor! I just can’t believe it! HE CONSUMMATED the marriage! Her father justifies himself for forcing her to live with the sick pervert because he was afraid she would get kidnapped like two of his other daughters. You are a father, it is YOUR job to care care of your daughters and your house. She is a CHILD. How can someone in this day and age do this? Is he completely insane? Is his brain made of baked beans? Oh my God, I just want to put him and the pedophile non-beater in a cage of hungry rabid rats. I hope they get their just deserts someday or some place.

The girl’s lawyer, Shadha Nasser, said Nojud’s case was not unique.

“I believe there are thousands of similar cases,” she said. Civil society groups were pressing parliament to set the minimum age for marriage at 18, she said.

Mugshot Dujour

Oh my God. I just found this website. I’m crying tears of laughter. In the library. Must keep quiet. Can’t do it. Oh shit I just snorted.

I dunno if this is your kind of funny. If it isn’t, I really feel sorry for you.

Still crying.

Buck Up

So yesterday, I decided to do something I didn’t want to do. I put up my whole DVD collection up on eBay. I love my DVDs and I take good care in selecting them for my collection and making sure I keep them scratch-free. Being a “special edition” freak, most of my titles are multiple discs or box sets. I decided to keep the complete series of Roseanne, the first two seasons of the Muppet Show, the Beatles Anthology, the Billy Connolly Essential Box Set, Police Academy Collection, Brokeback Mountain (Special 2-disc Edition), and the Da Vinci Code (Special 3-disc Edition). The rest are all up for a set price of $500. The collection is worth a lot more because again, most are special editions and plus I have great taste in movies! They are a total of 71 titles (I count box sets as one).

I just don’t want to deal with the hassle of shipping them or taking them with me when I finally move back home. Worrying about if everything arrives safely, if they get lost or stolen, or just dealing with customs will be a pain in the ass.

I guess it’s better this way, now I will be able to start a new collection. Perhaps I can go ahead with Blu-ray DVDs. It’s ironic that I bought a DVD on Friday and it’s now included in the collection I’m selling.
