Whatever - On This and That
In America, college kids always get “care packages” from their older family members especially during their freshman year. Parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents send packages with canned food, homemade cookies and other stuff that are useful.
I’m in my senior year and I never got one… UNTIL YESTERDAY! The package had my old sneakers that I forgot to pack, a white wool chmaq from my dad which I also forgot to pack, a giant flag of Kuwait to hang up on my wall, cute tin boxes of Patchi gerge’aan from my uncle and Khaleeji cookbooks!
My best friend here invited me for Thanksgiving with her family for the second time (I ditched her the first time to go see Nawal in New York, she understands). So I thought it would be cool if I would cook a traditional Kuwaiti dish for the dinner. I’ll be practicing until then.
I think I’ve caught the smart phone bug. I was trying really really hard to avoid it, but I can’t anymore. I can’t even afford it! I’m trying to save up for a spring break trip I’m so excited about. But just to throws things up into the air (in case someone feels generous), I’m interested in the Nokia E90, Samsung BlackJack i600, Sony Ericsson P1 and ofcourse the Apple iPhone.
I’ve read some bad reviews about the iPhone and was starting to be turned off by it but I went to Best Buy today and played around with the iPod Touch and the user interface is gorgeous. I tried typing and messed up a few times but I could easily see myself getting use to it. I’m also attracted to the syncing thing with my Mac because I use the Apple Address Book and Calender. I don’t care for the iPod part of it so I won’t have to worry about iTunes forcing me to upgrade the firmware and bricking my unlocked iPhone. The browser is great too for checking up on stuff between classes when I don’t feel like carrying around my iBook.
I’m watch a butt-load of TV shows this time and it’s cool because they only use up two hours each night except Friday and Saturday. I’m watching The Big Bang Theory, Heroes, Journey Man, Aliens In America, Cavemen, America’s Next Top Model, Gossip Girl, Bionic Woman, Life, Ugly Betty and Grey’s Anatomy. Wow.
Well that’s it for now. There’s gonna be a five episode marathon of CSI Miami tonight at 7pm EST on A&E! Nice to watch and do homework as well.

wanasa, i love care packages, my mom sends me stuff all the time, they always make me cry, im sure its not the desired affect, but its still nice!

I am into the iphone too, but the price here in Kuwait is rediculas , they charge 400 K.D for the iphone in Eureka, Good luck with your cooking drills
