It’s That Time of the (Leap) Year
We are fast approaching the dawn of what I like to call the Harry Potter Leap Year. Approximately every two years, something to do with Harry Potter comes out. This time, it’s two things within a span of only 10 days. A movie and a book!
I quickly made sure I ordered a copy of the final book of the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Deluxe Edition, as soon as that option was possible. Barnes & Noble is also making sure that the book arrives in the hands of the customers the day it is released! Also, I got a Fandango.com email Thursday morning informing me that tickets for the fifth movie are now on sale so it didn’t take me long after that to buy four tickets for the first showing at 12:01am Tuesday night the 10th (technically Wednesday the 11th). That’s two days before the official release! Helena Bonham Carter will be amazing I’m sure. I can’t wait!
Before the release of a movie or a book, I take the time to catch up on Harry Potter by viewing all previous movies and all the Harry Potter Spark Notes for the previous books. A little obsessive but I feel it is necessary.
Here are the trailers for the movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It’s gonna be “wicked.”
P.S. This is my first ever July post!
Update: Check out this cool countdown dashboard widget for the book and the movie! Sorry, only for Mac users.

no your not.. almost all the harry potter fans grew up with the series.. the first book came out in 1997.. if a 12 year-old became a fan in 1997, that kid would be 22 years-old today.. i should also point out that the books became more and more mature over the years.. i think because the j.k. rowling kept in mind that her readers are growing older as harry potter was growing older as well.. in the first book, harry is 11.. in this last book, book 7, he’ll be 17..
and it’s not just a dude on a broom stick
you think all this universal hype would be about that?
