Becks and Madrid
I think he will stay at Real Madrid. I am almost certain, but I’m just part of this potential agreement. I know the player is happy here and I would like him to stay and be part of the team, contribute with his quality. I spoke to the press a while ago but they erased the “if” from my statement, because what I said is that if and when he retires, I would like it if it were here, at Real Madrid. I think David Beckham is happy at Real Madrid and vice versa, the Club is happy with him. Logically, we should continue working together. We make a “good couple.”
– Ramón Calderón, President of Real Madrid, in a press conference yesterday.
I’ve been really worried about the current rumors about the possibility David Beckham will be released for 5 million Euros in the January transfer window. I would hate it if he would have to retire in the USA or an English team not in the top four.
He has been a good asset to Real Madrid on and off the pitch. I believe that he is still a decent midfielder and has shown extremely good effort in all his games for Madrid. But since Capello became manager, Beckham has been benched very frequently. Unofficial reort say that he refuses to sign a new contract unless he is promised a regular place on the starting lineup. Whether that’s true or not, I understand his position. Reyes has often been used instead of Beckham but he is on loan from Arsenal so it’s not quite certain if he will stay at the end of the season. He has been very effective and I think it is likely that he will stay.
I really hope Beckham stays. Capello has stated that he wants him to stay, but I just wish he would give him a chance. The only game he started was the unlucky Getafe 1-0 loss two weekends ago. With all this media hype, I think Capello will be a tiny bit leniant and allow Beckham in this weekend’s game against Gimnàstic de Tarragona to give him a chance to prove himself and impress Capello.

first of all, let me comment about the reyes-baptista situation
its 99% certain that both players will stay at their current clubs
reyes doesnt like it in london and finds english too hard for him, its reported that he takes his translator everywhere even to rent dvds! *why would a guy with as big a salary he used to get, rent dvds?*
i think if cappello stays, its rumored that he turned in his resignation after the getafe game, things are going to be done his way, and it seems that beckham is not in his plans. on the other hand, beckham is a huge commercial assest, but his stock has went down a lot since his move to madrid, partyly because he is in madrid. if he moves it will be a suprise, and for 5 million euros its a bargain, heck if i had that kind of cash, i’d buy him, and sell his shirts in japan, they’ll buy whatever crap i throw at them and beckham would be the best investment i ever made
I dont know why, but i see beckham at everton, i know its outrageous, bas i would bet on it (like $1) and atleast i would say thta i said it first
then again if he comes to the US, FSC could stop showing us that interview they made with beckham, they air it almost at ever commercial, and we can see the last of it!

Beckham is “ja7sh”. Ahem, sorry, that was your spam word.
Beckham is stupid if he stays. First of all, Madrid been killing him forcing him to play defensive mid-field. I know his long passes are perfect but him playing DM is something he is not so good at since he’s more of an attacker than defender. I say he should get back to Man Utd. Take the Capitan badge off Neville, throw Ronaldo to the left side and take back the place where he inspired everybody with; right side.

I used to be a Real supporter before they destroyed the career of Michael Owen. I think Beckham should leave and get back to Engliand where he can play in the best league in the world and try to win his place back in the England team.

Will David Beckham accept two years with his name in brackets?

I agree with Yazeed on the Baptista/Reyes situation, and i have a feeling Real got the better deal in that, but still Baptista needs to be tested in England. I always knew Reyes would become world class, and his style of play is actually perfect for Arsenal, but he’s just an idiot who couldnt bother learn the language, his gypsy roots are too strong.
As for Beckham, I think he would be a great addition to any top team. Wenger said he wouldnt rule out going for Beckham even though he’s 32. I dont think that makes sense though, and I doubt Beckham would go ahead of any of our starters for now.
I think the perfect place for him would be Newcastle. Everton would suit his style alot more but Newcastle are always willing to pay for names, and it would mean Beckham Owen Duff Parker Martins on attack….not bad at all!\
Also, why would Real keep him?

Q, what i dont understand is why WOULDNT madrid keep him. i feel he is very effective and still has an important role as a player for them. capello still hasnt given him a real chance yet and that really is puzzling.
anyway, recent reports quote beckham as definately wanting to stay at madrid and the feeling is mutual with the real madrid administration. i think at the moment, the ball is in capello’s court and we’ll just have to wait and see what he does with it.
yazeed, la ma feeni shay. i was just super focused on catching up with greys anatomy and just enjoying the fact that this week is a pretty non-hectic week.
