Veterens Day
Congratulations to Real Madrid on winning the first leg 2-0 against Bacelona on Sunday. It was a great game and Madrid played well compared to Barca. They were’nt fantastic, but they won because Barcelona was not at their best form.
Madrid was still at a high from their last Champions League game on the 18th when they beat Steaua Bucuresti 4-1. There was the same teamwork, the same confidence and the same communication beween players and Capello.
Ruud van Nistelrooy is on a scoring rampage and I think he will be a tough contender for top scorer in the La Liga.
I would have to say the best players on Sunday were Guti and Raul. Although I am not a big fan of Raul because I think his best years have gone and he just isn’t effective anymore. But he was really working hard and delivering chances to the offence and was even covering Ronaldinho as well. Not to mention his header goal in the second minute of the game!
Guti has been on fire lately and I really am impressed. He has always been one of my favorites on the team and it upsets me that not many can see that he plays a big part and is currently filling Zidanes shoes in creating oppurtunities and really pissing off the oponent’s defense.
Robinho and Sergio Ramos were also key players in Sunday’s game as they took part in setting up the two goals. Robinho made a relatively easy pass to Nistelrooy at the begining of the second half which he netted passed Valdes. As always, Ramos is just the model of young power and speed. He is a defender that acts like a midfielder and a forward!
Speaking of defenders, Huelguera and Canavarro were excellent too. Real Madrid is known to have a poor defense but Barcelona is known to have mid-hieght players. Helguera obviously had an advantage by towering over the Barca forwards and sweeping the balls from over and under them. Canavarro would just throw himself at the direction of the ball just to get it out of the oposing player’s way. I love his dedication to his coach and new team.
You can see Madrid’s goals as well as other important games on Sunday over at Yazeez’s.
This was all I could grasp from watching the game, I was watching it online via streaming and had many moments where the picture just froze.

You’re getting really good at reporting and commenting on football.. why not make a real go of it and send your articles to English newspapers in Kuwait? Thanks to the net, all it would take is an e-mail and some good selling (and good writing to begin with) and who knows.. someone might just bite! You could also try your local town papers. But, of course, and as always, heaven forbid that such activities should ever interfere with your studies!

Yeah yeah, have your laugh. They played well I admit but them stupid Barca players weren’t in shape that precise match. Their lines were scattered, Ronaldinho seems like he’s been bored of football, Gudjohnsson still can’t fit in and Messi thinks he’s the new Maradona.
Anyways.. Congrats but don’t laugh too much cuz its only the La Liga. Champions League is what really matters. =P

shorof, thanks and i will certainly think about that.
MAC, ishfeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! la la ma asadeg! Madrid “played well”?????? wow man im impressed! and u AGREE that barca was not in form??!?!?! woowza!
6ab3an la liga is more important! its the local tournament and is the true report card of a teams work throughout the season.. champs league is just a few games out of the season and doesnt really say anything.. BUT i do admit they are more intense more exciting more entertaining and the final is even better than a world cup final (only if ur team is part of it).. by the local league is always more important.. thats what i think
khal messi y7aseb nafs maradona o shinu ya3ni..? any asshole can cheat and play street football in a formal arena.. big deal. maradona is scum and i wont stop u from saying that a barca player thinks he’s maradona.. cuz to me, any kind of resemblence anyone has to maradona is an insult.
