The Blues

Posted: September 30th, 2006 | Filed under: Music | No Comments »

I’ve recently begun liking classic blues. The Blues was the foundation that led to Rock ‘n’ Roll. These were all great artists but the most important ones (in this list) that contributed most to the genre were Robert Johnson and Howlin’ Wolf (image). My favorite of these two artists is Howlin’ Wolf. His super rough voice is so convincing and powerful.
The songs in bold are my favorite in this list.

Boogie Chillen’ : John Lee Hooker (1948)
Call It Stormy Monday : T-Bone Walker (1947)
Crossroad Blues : Robert Johnson (1936)
How Many More Years : Howlin’ Wolf (1951) the voice
I Just Want To Make Love To You : Muddy Waters (1953)
I’m Ready : Muddy Waters (1954)
Love In Vain : Robert Johnson (1937)
Match Box Blues : Blind Lemon Jefferson (1927)
Milk Cow Blues : Kokomo Arnold (1935)
Preachin’ Blues : Robert Johnson (1936) amazing guitar playing
Smokestack Lightnin’ : Howlin’ Wolf (1956) the signature “howlin’”
St. Louis Blues : Bessie Smith (1925)
That’s All Right : Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup (1946)
The Red Rooster : Howlin’ Wolf (1961)
Three O’Clock Blues : B.B. King (1951)

Here’s one to chew on. Try typing http://www.iphone.org into your browser. It brings up the Apple home page. And whois shows iphone.org registered to Apple Computer, Inc.

What could it mean? Is this more evidence of the rumored Apple iphone?

Here we go again. My brother sent me an email with these images because he too is Mac obsessed. We got our iBook G4’s a year ago and we both are extremely happy with them. BUT we are also constantly waiting and expecting and anticipating more frustrations from new Apple products. Anyway, these images are really interesting and obviously Photoshoped. The one I like most is the iPhone. The hiMac seems kinda weird and the watch thing ain’t too attractive. Well.. enjoy! :D

What’s On TV?

Hey all you people in Kuwait! Can you please tell me what the top TV shows I’m supposed to be watching are? The ones right before Futoor and any other Khaleeji ones. Qatar TV has been making some kick ass shows the past few years so naming those too would be great. I gotta catch up and start downloading!!
Thanks! :D

First Futoor

This was a GREAT weenkend. My friend came to our campus for the weekend so me and her boyfriend and I were back together again just like last year. I was so happy! We hung out aaaaall night Friday and then Saturday too. Saturday was the first day of Ramadhan so we all went out for sushi for my Futoor. We had a lot. We then hung out aaaaall night again and then today afternoon (Sunday) I had to say goodbye to my friend before she went back to her campus. Sad again.

It’s Real Love

This is what love is. All you haters of Macs just don’t understand. When you buy a new Mac desktop or book you instantly fall in love. I didn’t believe it at first but I fell. It’s been a little over a year now and my iBook G4 has never once failed me. No batery problems, no speed problems and especially no spyware/virus problems. Thanks to God, my iBook is as reliable as a best friend. In fact, I think many Macers might say that their Macs are one of their best friends.

Anyway, here’s a story of a 5 year relationship between a man and his PowerBook G4. A lovely story.

Oh and his website is pretty awesome too.
