Korean Movies
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea is introducing Korean movies in Kuwait all this week starting today. There will be one movie everyday from Sunday through Wednesday. Entrance is free and ‘first-come-first-serve’ at 7pm. So get there early. Sadly, I can only go to the one on Wednesday. More info here.
Link fixed. Thanks Mark.

oo let’s go and check you out. haha.
No worries ;P, I’m too lazy to make it; besides the many facts such as exams, world cup, world cup related things, and any other time I get free I spend with family/cousins. Oh and a newly found friend whenever that’s gonna happen… baah.

I actually went for the first three films on the 28th, 29th, and the 30th. Having a new found interest in Asian cinema and being new in Kuwait, I thought I’d check it out and see if I could meet other people with a similar interest.
First off, the presentation was horrible. This was my first experience with this so-called “Kuwait Cinema Club” and I must say, it was atrocious. The films were being shown in a small room with no tiered (cinema like) seating on regular DVD connected to an average projector with the picture being projected onto the wall! Ever so often, a man in a dishdasha would come and adjust the volume on the AV receiver while the film was running!
Secondly, the turnout was laughable. For Park Chan-Wook’s superbly directed film JSA, there were less than 12 people in the audience. Not many people yurned up for the other films either.
Better organisation, a quality setup and some basic marketing of the event would have helped.

I so wanted to attend some of these movies…but unfortunately I found out about them too late. I am always on the look-out for cultural events like these but i dont seem to find a magazine or a newspaper that provides dates and locations ahead of time and on a regular basis.
You seem to be always up to date…where do you get your info from???
