Salut Zizou!

Yes, Zidane has announced his retirement from football after WC2006. Although that is a sad thing for me, a Madridista, I feel even more sorry that the club was not able to give him one last final League or Champions trophy. I am sad that his last three years in club football were at a club that lacked a stable administration. Oh well, I guess he has Germany to look forward to. Even though I’ll be rooting for Brazil, Portugal and the Netherlands, I’ll be just as happy if France wins it. I do think he will give a special performance.

Zidane is the only player in my eyes that has the best attitude in football. A true legend that will really be missed.

Zidane’s last game at the Bernabéu will be against Villareal on May 7th. His last game playing for Madrid will be against Sevilla on May 14th. Both will be memorable I’m sure.

I wish Zizou all the best in the future, and I hope he still shows up every once in a while to let us know he’s still alive and kicking. At the moment, let us not forget some of the greatest moves of the genius that is Zizou, has displayed throughout his whole football career:

I think it’s about time he retired, and I think Real will do just fine without him. He is a legend, but his age has shown, and his performance this year wasn’t that good. In any case, I’m not expecting anything magical from Zidane in the wc2006, but I’m sure he has a few neat tricks up his sleave.
