Hitler’s Children

This banned cartoon was produced in 1943 by Disney. It is PURE 100% propaganda. Kinda reminds me of some of my highschool history classes where we use to look at posters and political cartoons as examples of propaganda. This one is different than the ones I’ve posted before because there really isn’t any comedy or humor in it. Well, maybe only in that 30 second piece about the fairytale. But was it just me that felt a bit freaked out when little Hans started expressing his hate for the rabbit? Thats some incredible voice acting (???).

You can find ALL of the Disney WW2 propaganda films in high-quality (Including the much sought-after “Victory Through Air Power,” which is supposedly the Holy Grail of Disney films) in a DVD collection called Disney on the Front Lines.

It’s a nice set, and considering your huge interest in propaganda toons I think you’d really like it. Considering their political correctness nowadays I’m surprised they even released it, but it’s nice to know they’re not afraid of people knowing SOME of their history (Now all they need is a proper release of Song of the South).

I’ve seen this elsewhere and it is really creepy. I keep wondering when Bush Admin is going to make its own aniamted propaganda cartoons about the enemy.

  9. Susan Says:

Except for the silly parts, this was factual, and not that exaggerated at all! Just what are they teaching you kids in school these days?

  10. snookie Says:

im sorry, but i dont think anyone here suggested that it was exaggerated.. :|
