I’m suffering from chronic laziness, which is why I haven’t been feeding my blog lately. As some of you might know, I’m back home and most of my time is being used up by me sleeping, eating and doing nothing. And also occasionally going out.
I’m currently working on my latest political cartoon, which is based on the annoying actions of one political figure in Kuwaiti society. Everything is ready but I just can’t seem to draw that person’s face!
A few ‘Guess Who’ portraits will be coming up soon since I will surely be fed up with my laziness. I need to then go scan them since our scanner has been permanently broken for a few years now. No problem with me! I gladly accept any chance of there being some driving on my part. I love driving and being deprived of it for four months is torture!

AT LAAAAAST!! Congratulations to all Kuwaiti women and supporters of our rights! May 16 has gone down in history (and lets not forget March 7 please). I would like to thank all those who took part in making this possible. When it comes time to vote in 2007, I will have just turned 21!

I was watching Cartoon Network at night one day during the [adult swim] hours and I saw this during the commercial brake. Along with eerie violin music, this image made me feel so bad! Not sad, but BAD! And I don’t even know why! I never hit a deer (or any other animal with a car.. thank God) . Maybe it’s about people not caring about preserving the wildlife, but they are! Maybe it’s about bambi? I really don’t know. All I want to know is why it freaked me out! And what it means and why they put it on Cartoon Network. Hmm..

I was on my way back home yesterday, 11 hour flight from LA to London, when I suffered a somewhat serious health related problem. I got off the plane feeling groggy and was told that British Airways were forbidding me from going on my connecting flight back home to Kuwait because they felt I wasn’t strong enough to take 6 hours of flying. I argued of course and lied by telling them I will miss a wedding if I don’t get on that flight. No use. They booked me on tomorrow’s flight and gave me a 24-hour UK visa so I can spend a night at the Hilton at Heathrow. I don’t know if I argued hard enough but I’m sure if I really pissed them off I would have been on tonight’s flight. I understand their concern but I can’t help but be REALLY pissed! I’ll request compensation by having them upgrade my seat. I do deserve it afterall. The same thing happened about nine months ago but they let me go because maybe they felt my father, who was flying with me, would take care of me on the plane.
Wish me luck on that compensation! I’ll feel so much better if I get it.

I went to see the movie ‘Monster-in-Law’ with my friend today. It was a sneak preview that was shown only today, only run once before it officially comes out on the 13th. It’s when the movie producers see the reactions of the audience. See if we laughed at the right moment and things like that.
Three words.. Oh my God. I haven’t laughed out loud in a movie since Blazing Saddles, which I first saw when I was 10 or 12. Even though the movie has a ‘been-there done-that have-the-t shirt’ theme, the script is ingenious and unexpected. The gags can be described using a word stronger than hilarious. Jane did an absolutely phenomenal comeback. And Jennifer, her first try in physical comedy, hits the spots perfectly. I was always unsure about Jennifer and her involvement in movies but now I will never hesitate going to a Jennifer Lopez comedy. Another thing, I never understood what people ment about ‘chemistry’ between two actors in a movie. Sounded like a bunch of B.S. if you ask me. But I could TOTALLY see it between Jane and Jennifer. Fine, I sound corny BUT ITS TRUE!
Bottom line, go see it.

Meet Maureen Kennedy Salaman. Another late night encounter. This show is where experts of various health fields discuzz the ways one can live a better and healthier life by eating good foods, using herbs and other natural substances.
Ok. If no one has still noticed, this woman has aboviosly had some ‘unatural’ work done on her face. That is the ultimate irony of ironies. Here she is promoting and trying to convince people to turn to healthy choices, while she obviously did not. I’m telling you, all I did was capture the image, shake my head and turned to Cartoon Network.

Hi people! I’m back (not in Kuwait yet)! I had a little free time and thought I’d say hi.
I was flipping through the channels late at night a few weeks ago (the best TV is late at night), when I stopped at the community channel for Bloomington. It’s where local events are televised, preaching and ads that have local radio music in the background like this one right here.
The word ‘marijuana’ caught my eye and I stopped to absorb the ad. I thought it was interesting because this group/organization is from my university. It’s cool that they are speaking out about it because where else would you get more support for this cause than in a university? I planned on going to these meetings to see what they were talking about and if they actually were stoned while IN the meeting. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t support it or anything I just want to see how they feel about it. I want to know what makes them think it is ok. I’m sure I’ll be hearing the argument that it serves as a painkiller for some cancer sufferers. I’ll see. I didn’t have the chance to go, so I’ll hopefully be able to go in the fall.
