A wife can report her husband's abuse to the police and he would be punished. There is a law against wife beating, thank God! The problem is with women.. so many of them take, it over and over, and are so ashamed of it that they mostly don't even tell their own family and try their best to hide it. Women are often victims by choice, because of many different reasons - not only in being abused but also in countless other issues. Actually, Kuwait is a society that does NOT condone wife abuse. Some women take it quietly and some stand up to their basic human rights no matter what the consequences. Unfortunately, only the minority are willing to stand up and 'face the music', and that goes for men as well as for women. Just one quick look at the state of human rights in the world will prove that. As God says in the Quran 'and man was created weak' و خلق الإنسان ضعيفا That’s right.. so then the woman is victimized by her own family as well as her abusive spouse.
