The Da Vinci Code
I just got done reading this book for the 5th time. And I doubt it will be the last. The last 2 times were read from the special illustrated edition of the book. What a GREAT addition to add to a great book. You get to actually see the claims on artworks and buildings and other things so you don’t need to doubt things! What a ride. I love little facts and this book as many of you might already know, has a LOT of them. And know I can’t help but picture how the movie is going to be. I can’t wait!
Tom Hanks will be Robert Langdon, Audrey Tautou as Sophie Neveu, and not surprisingly Jean Reno as Captain Bezu Fache! Jean is ALWAYS the French cop! I honestly could not have chosen a better cast myself. Tom Hanks is my favorite leading man of all time and the part of Sophie I imagined being played by either Audrey or Sophie Marceau. Planned to be released in 2006, the movie will be directed by Oscar-winning Ron Howard! This movie is gonna kill everyone at the Academy Awards in 2007. Obviously a lot of pressure on Ron Howard with a whole population of international fans (crazy ones too), but i’m confident he’s gonna do a GREAT job!

Oh. I didn’t know there was a movie coming up. That’s good news. That means I dont have to read the book. I’ll just wait until it comes out. Thanx for the info!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! the book is always better than the movie!! pleeeeaaase read the book first! i begged my mom to read it because i didnt want her to see the movie before it, cuz then she wouldn’t read the book anyway.. they usually leave out some parts of the book because they have a time limit.. TRUST ME, this book is worth every word that lies between the book covers!
i hope that convinced you to read it

Whats so good about the book? Its all fictional. Non of it is true. Or is it that good that it doesnt matter if it is true or not?
April 16th, 2005 at 5:57 pm
Looool! But it’s such a FAT book! I dont think i have the patience to finish it. But I wouldn’t mind someone reading it to me. Like seriously, they should sell audio cd’s with ppl reading the book. That would make me soo happy!

i dont know if its fictional or not, im not christian.. but it single-handedly is THE most entertaining thing i have EVER experianced in my life.. and thats good enough for me.. and im guessing all the people who’ve kept this book on the #1 spot on the bestseller list for 56+ weeks..

Adry its fictional thats why I said its all fictional. The story is based on another story that I believed was released during the early 80`s about the idea that Jesus had a wife and they had a girl that lived in France and that the French royal family is related to her and hense they r related to Jesus himself. The whole idea was proven to be fake after the secret society that was supposed have kept the secret for several centuries was proven to be a hoax. But books r entertaining and I might take up u r offer and read the book before the I see the movie. Thanks for the suggestion

I did read it. Not the illustrated edition. I don’t know wheather it reads different with illustrations. I found myself going on the net and looking up the artwork described. What do you think?
I was thinking of reading Angels and Demons. I am torn.

April 16th, 2005 at 6:55 pm
You keep using the word facts but what facts r u talking about? Can u give me a taste of what the book is about like some fact that the book states. I dont mean to be rude but I was just curious.
April 16th, 2005 at 6:59 pm

i think u should read the book if u want to understand my excitement
April 16th, 2005 at 7:05 pm

By the way if you liked DaVinci Code. Get The Rule of Four. Its about college students deciphering the ancient codes within a text written 500 years ago.
The Text is called Hypernotmachia Polphili. And was just recently translated. It is the second most important renaissance text printed. After the Gutenberg Bible. Yet no-one knows who wrote it or why. Its written in Latin, Greek, Arabic, Hebrew and Hyroglyphics.
Some people think its written by a Fransican Monk called Francesco Colona. The name can only be identified if you string together the first letter of each chapter. It makes a sentence saying in Latin. Father Francesco Colona searches for his Beloved.
The text is real. There is an MIT site working to collect the deciphered codes. The book is cool. The information you learn is amazing.
Oh I didnt give the book away. That information is common knowledge there is so much more in the book.
Word of warning…first chapter a little hard to get through….too many characters introduced at once.
