An Interesting Cartoon
I was watching cartoon network late last night, around 4am which is when they show the adult themed cartoons, and some old school ones too. This cartoon that I posted captures of was one about Russian “gremlins” that were causing havoc on a war plane that Hitler was flying. The gremlins spoke in a Russian accent and Hitler in German. A perfectly classic Warner Bros. cartoon. It grabbed my attention because this is pure propaganda. Produced during World War 2, this was shown to children and adults alike. What a great way to help increase the dislike of German and the Nazi regieme. I have to say it served its prpose because the snarly face of Hitler was frightning. I wish Kuwait did the same thing with Sadam during the Gulf War. 
The little guys on the left are the Russian gremlins.
Then one of them shows Hitler a mask of Joseph Stalin! (I laughed so hard)
The gremlins finally manage to crash the plane into the ground, leaving the wing sticking out as a makeshift headstone.

there are many WB and disney cartoons that were made during the war that attack germans and japanses , most of these are banned and never to be seen again ( i saw some of them , they are WAY too much racists )
oh and kuwait doing something like that ? ha good luck , they aren’t even talking about hero’s of the resistant because they don’t want to offend iraqi’s and do not want to show that there are kuwaiti’s other than al-sabah who can do shit

la i think all the people in kuwait know that most of the heros in the gulf war were normal kuwaities..
it would be cool if someone collected all those cartoons and made a dvd.. i would SO buy it.. i never saw one about the japanese.. but are you sure theyre banned? i mean, i saw this one on cable tv.. cartoon network!

Yep Disney and Warner brothers cartoons which were made during WWII were some of the funniest ever. Bugs bunny, Porky, donald and Daffy all stared as war heros and they defeated alot of Nazis and Japanese.
You said it Cartoons were watched by “adults” and children back then in movie theatres as movie trailers , unlike here in Kuwait where cartoons are still seen as “kids only” medium. The most popular Kuwaiti cartoon to date is Block 13 which is a shameless copy of South Park, We all have seen South park and its NOT for kids - not by a mile, but still Kuwaitis decided to make it into a cute kids show, without tackling real issues like south park does.
In kuwait there are double standards in everything, yes you can make fun of anyone in plays, and you can curse and insult anyone you dont like in newspapers, BUT if you try to draw a cartoon about the same person, hell’s gate will open and you would be crossing the big red line, and everyone will stand against you and feel offended all of the sudden. You wonder why, its because people here think that cartoons are drawn for people to laugh at, no one likes to be laughed at. thats ignorance in its purest form.

People get offended by anyone that makes fun of them no matter what medium is used. Imagine if the Iraqis did a cartoon series that was set during the occupation and in it they made fun of Kuwaitis and how they basically got away with murder? You see the big difference is when u r the one being made fun of its no longer funny it’s insulting. Personally I don’t like to be insulted.

um i dont think ANYONE would brag about getting away with murder.. ok people will get offended but who cares?! i dont see anyone making a big deal about the very active political cartooning in our newspapers.. well maybe if its very obvious and its aimed at a particular person, but not many do that..
thats not my point anyway, the point is that that cartoon made fun of an outsider, not someone from the same country! we all overlooked that! and in a way we DID make cartoons about the iraqis.. “seif il 3arab”, “makhroosh 6a7 bkroosh” and maybe other ones that i dont know of..

I hate to tell u but skin heads brag about it all the time not to mention the KKK. Its funny that u say u dont care. 3la ra7tich :). most of the Japanese Americans that were born in the usa were made fun of during the war WW2 not to mention anyother person from the orient. Most were even placed in camps cus the us was scared of them. I m not saying what they did was right or wrong but I m trying to show that sometime outsiders are not really outsiders. Hey if we made cartoons about iraqis we had a right to we were the ones that were being killed… Its really strange that no one cares untill they r in the exact same situation then and only then will a person truely understand inshallah u will never be in a position that someone offends u so that u wont feel bad

ok i’ll ask you this.. do most of the people that were made fun of (the germans, japs, asian-americans, etc.) actually see the mediums? some maybe but most likely no.. the iraqis might have had a thing in the newspapers about us but if we knew its a small number of people who did..
as far as the skinheads and the kkk.. they attacked people of their country and people who were against them and their beliefs were from their country as well.. (you can almost call it a tiny civil war).. but a war between to countries is obviously different.. you make fun but you know that theres little chance the other side will see, and if they do, YOU DONT CARE because you dont like them in the first place! thats the whole point of making fun!

I can see u r point they mostly wouldnt see the mediums. I was trying to say was that ppl getting offended is only natural nothing more and nothing less. Personally I love cartoons and hate politics

ok i agree with that.. i love cartoons too (thats why i watch them late at night
- when the classics are on) but i dont hate politics, im trying to learn it.. thx to the blog world, i am..

Me3a i7tiramy to the so called blog world there really bias and to learn such a subject from ppl that are bias makes it hard to come up with an opinion of the situation. My sugestion is to read about it. i m guessing u do but try and take some subjects that are politically orientated. Tara politics can be a dirty game cus u really cant hold a politician to any word thy say. Thats my take on it hope u learn all u can from what ever source u choose.

But that wouldnt be as accurate cus u never know where some ppl get their info i hope u actually do some digging of u r own to find the source and not take their opinion to be fact. Wallah believe u me most opinions r based on personal experience or situation. Its like when u ask a student about a teacher they had not all of them will give u a bias opinion most will give u an opinion based on the grade that the teacher gave them others will admit the truth. Just becareful what u take as fact and what is actually based on personal opinion that is tanted.
