An Old Favorite
This cartoon was done, as you can see, in September of 2003 in my IB Art class. A two year course where you focus on creating at least 12 pieces of a unified body of work (all have something unique in common). I obviously focused on political cartooning, and specifically issues in women’s culture in the Arab world. This is my favorite of all 12. One, because I feel it was the one that was drawn the best. Two, it did not take me long to come up with it. And finally three, because I am very passionate about this issue.
My mom told me that there will be another rally next Monday, she asked me if she can take this cartoon with her. Ofcourse I said yes! Ha ha.. She scanned it for me and sent it so that i’d blog it before Monday. THANKS MOMMIE! I hope you like it. I don’t think I will like any of my cartoons, from the past or in the future, as much as I like this one. So if you want to criticize, please be gentle. Thanks.
